The business of precision medicine – Visioning the Future

This inaugural Bionow Precision Medicine Conference, co-hosted by the Northern Health Science Alliance, will focus on the impact which this exciting area has on patients and given the strengths in the North, will also examine precision medicine as a key tool in reducing the North / South economic differential.

Participants will consider how key developments in the area can become an economic reality to deliver new standards of care for patients, also how and when P4 Medicine might come to fruition.

The event will feature sessions looking in depth at Precision Medicine in the key areas of inflammatory disease, cancer, cardiovascular / metabolic, infection, health economics and clinical trials. Drawing upon experts from the academic, clinical and industry arenas the event will appeal to experts in the field as well as those looking to broaden their understanding of the business-related opportunities of bringing new products to patients.

Precision Medicine is an emerging approach for disease treatment and prevention that takes into account individual variability in genes, environment, and lifestyle for each person. This approach allows doctors and researchers to predict more accurately which treatment and prevention strategies for a particular disease will work best in specific groups of people. P4 Medicine will further revolutionise medicine and build upon the opportunity to deliver care which is Predictive, Preventive, Personalized and Participatory.
