Excelerate Technology Ltd and the University of South Wales would like to invite you to participate in their upcoming Connectivity for Health and Social Care Requirements Workshop, which is part of a feasibility study exploring how best to support healthcare staff who work in people’s homes, care homes and other community settings where reliable internet access is often unavailable.
End user feedback from Excelerate’s previous projects has shown that across many community environments, clinicians and care teams face challenges when working in indoor settings such as:
- No access to open Wi-Fi
- Limited or no mobile signal indoors
- Vehicle-based connectivity solutions that do not extend into the building
As digital tools, apps, and patient data platforms increasingly underpin community care, these gaps in on-site connectivity create barriers to efficient, safe, and effective service delivery.
About the Workshop
This session is the first of two workshops during the study. Its purpose is to gather insights directly from users and service providers to help the team:
- Deepen their understanding of current connectivity challenges in community settings
- Map existing technologies, workflows, and digital requirements
- Identify the technical, commercial, and operational considerations a future solution must address
Your experience and perspective will play a crucial role in shaping a practical, user-centred set of requirements for potential connectivity solutions.
Future Session
A second workshop will follow later in Jan/Feb, where the team will present early concepts and potential solution options for initial feedback.
