SUMMARY:Department for International Trade: Biopharmaceutical Virtual Mission\, India
DESCRIPTION:The Department for International Trade (DIT) invites innovative British biopharmaceutical companies across: \n\nVaccine\,\nDrug discovery/re-purposing and delivery\nProcess Manufacturing including AI/data in manufacturing\n\nVaccines: India is a global vaccines hub as the country produces more than 60% of vaccine doses procured by the UN worldwide. India also has the largest global capacity for WHO pre-qualified vaccine manufacturing. \nSeveral Indian vaccine manufacturers are developing vaccines for infectious and non- infectious diseases\, including for Covid-19 either indigenously and/or in partnership with international organisations. \nDrug discovery and delivery: India is the largest provider of generic drugs globally\, supplying over 40 per cent of generic demand in the US\, and 25 per cent of all medicine in UK\, through more than 250 US FDA\, and UK MHRA approved plants. Indian manufacturers are moving up the value chain by investing in R&D for development of new molecules. There is also renewed interest in drug re-purposing\, to identify new areas of application for existing drugs\, especially with the current pandemic situation. \nProcess manufacturing and technology: as Indian pharma moves up the value chain\, there are increased incentives to investing in technologies such as those included within Industry 4.0 and digital manufacturing to improve processes and costs\, which would enable India to meet the high regulatory standards of markets like the US and EU. Given the UK’s strengths in above areas\, the UK stands out as the perfect partner of choice for the Indian biopharma industry as it looks to move up the value chain. \nFind out more here and download the expression of interest form here.

SUMMARY:Advancing the future of diagnostics
DESCRIPTION:Each step in a diagnostic test’s journey—from raw material extraction to patient administration—can influence outcomes.  Advances in molecular biology\, immunodiagnostics and rapid point-of-care (POC) testing are transforming diagnostics. New products and support services are providing the critical tools and components which enable clinicians to detect specific biomarkers and target treatments\, ultimately resulting in better patient outcomes. \nRecent events have increased the global focus and commitment on bringing diagnostic tests to market as quickly as possible as well as the challenges the industry has faced in developing and bringing these diagnostic tests to market in exceptional circumstances.  A wealth of technology\, diverse expertise in areas such as material science\, biochemistry\, virology as well as a robust supply of critical components are fundamental to the successful development of every test.  Optimizing assays and kits for high sensitivity and accuracy is a common goal for all those involved in the development process.  The need for close collaboration between diagnostic developers and component and material providers has never been stronger. \nWe invite you to our thought-provoking and interactive virtual summit showcasing recently launched technologies\, products and solutions supporting the development of diagnostics. Incorporating a program of webinars hosted by leading scientists at the University College London (UCL) and Harvard Medical School\, a panel discussion from industry experts from DCN and Sona Nanotech as well as sessions from Cytiva’s own product and application specialists.  You will also be able to live chat with our product experts. \nFind out more and register here
