SUMMARY:Abel + Imray: Tips for reviewing and building an effective trade mark portfolio
DESCRIPTION:Abel + Imray are holding a webinar on the 5th December about “Tips for reviewing and building an effective trade mark portfolio”. \nYou don’t have to be the owner of a historic brand or a huge trade mark portfolio to benefit from a regular trade mark portfolio review. Almost all businesses have a brand name\, and many have a logo\, and they are likely to have built up a reputation in those brands that they will want to protect. Like reviewing insurance cover\, it makes sense for every business to spend a little time every few years to make sure that the right protection is in place in the right territories for the right marks\, in respect of the right goods and services. \nThis bitesize webinar will cover: \n\nWhat you should register: marks\, territories\, goods/services\, and how to prioritise\nCreating a tailored trade mark filing strategy\nKeeping your existing portfolio fit for purpose\n\nThis webinar is aimed at businesses who: \n\nHave a range of different branded product or service lines\nExport goods\, or trade in multiple jurisdictions\nOr just haven’t thought about registered trade mark protection yet\, or for a while\n\nIf you would like to learn more about the webinar or register\, please click here.

SUMMARY:2025 BioInfect Conference
DESCRIPTION:Antimicrobial resistance (AMR) is one of the top global public health and development threats. According to a 2022 article published in the Lancet\, it is estimated that bacterial AMR was directly responsible for 1.27 million global deaths in 2019 and contributed to 4.95 million deaths. \nAntimicrobial resistance: a growing issue \nThe misuse and overuse of antimicrobials in humans\, animals and plants are the main drivers in the development of drug-resistant pathogens. \nWithout effective tools for the prevention and adequate treatment of drug-resistant infections and improved access to existing and new quality-assured antimicrobials\, the number of people for whom treatment is failing or who die of infections will increase. Medical procedures\, such as routine surgery (including caesarean sections or hip replacements)\, cancer chemotherapy\, and organ transplantation\, will become more risky. \nWhy attend BioInfect? \nThe agenda at BioInfect will focus on the issues surrounding the increasing threat of AMR and how it can be addressed\, including working towards an integrated\, unifying approach that aims to achieve optimal and sustainable health outcomes; antimicrobial stewardship; increased investment and innovation in new treatments at all stages of the drug development pipeline and ensuring ROI in the development of new antimicrobials; and the use of strategic information to inform the AMR response.

SUMMARY:ABHI: Building Awareness of Cardiovascular Disease in Women
DESCRIPTION:Join the ABHI online to learn more about how cardiovascular disease affects women and how to raise awareness to promote heart health. \nCardiovascular disease (CVD) is responsible for 35% of deaths in women each year (*World Heart Foundation) – more than all cancers combined. Yet\, CVD in women continues to be seriously understudied\, under-recognised\, under-diagnosed and under-treated. \nThis disparity is often driven by misconceptions\, including the widespread belief that CVD primarily affects men. A key factor is the persistent under-representation of women in clinical trials\, leading to limited awareness\, among both female patients and healthcare professionals\, of sex-specific symptoms and presentations of CVD. \nThis panel will explore how we can urgently improve the understanding of CVD in women\, both among health professionals and the general public. \nConfirmed speakers include: \n\nDr Nina Wilson – Clinical Advisor\, ABHI\nDr Partho Sengupta – Rutger Professor and Chief of Cardiology\, Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School and University Hospital\, USA\nDr Bejal Pandya – Congenital Cardiologist and Clinical Director of Specialised Cardiology at Barts Heart Centre\, London\n\nRegister for the Building Awareness of Cardiovascular Disease in Women webinar here.
