DESCRIPTION:With input from the EMAHSN staff\, this interactive and informative event on ‘Preparing your NHS Business Case’ will enable you to prepare better business cases. \nThis free to attend event is being held as part of the INSTILS programme – a project part-funded by the European Regional Development Fund\, click here to be re-directed to further information about the project. \nDuring the event you will also learn about: \n– What is a business case\, what is its purpose and why it is so important? \n– Who reviews the business case and how are they evaluated from a commissioning point of view? \n– How to construct a good business case \nThe Challenge as a supplier to the NHS is often that when you have a product which from your perspective improves patient outcomes and saves cost you still cannot get it adopted by the NHS. This is often because there is not a fully developed business case\, without this a group within the NHS interested in taking on board a new product or service are unlikely to get approval of the case for change before procurement of the innovation can proceed. \nOrganisations that supply to the NHS are often challenged by the process\, timescales\, evidence and documentary requirements. This can often seem like an unnecessary complication\, or simply a reason to not issue a purchase order. A good business case is fundamental to successful adoption and developing a long term business partnership. SUMMARY:Soapbox Science speakers get set to share passion for their profession
DESCRIPTION:The countdown is on for this year’s Soapbox Science event which brings 12 inspirational female scientists to the streets of Swansea to share their research\, engage the public and inspire the next generation of scientists. \nHosted by Swansea University\, the free event will be held in Oxford Street between noon and 3pm on Saturday\, 22 June. Now in its sixth successful year\, it aims to raise the profile and challenge the public’s view of women in science\, technology\, engineering\, maths and medicine (STEMM). \nThis year the event will see scientists from the University joined by conservationist and broadcaster Dan Rouse. \nFlashback to a previous Soapbox Science event in Swansea. \nThe Swansea date is one of 50 Soapbox Science events in 14 countries which will see speakers from a range of backgrounds share their research and answering questions from the public. \nOrganiser Dr Geertje van Keulen will help spread the word about the event on BBC Radio Wales’s Science Café on Tuesday when she joins a panel of leading female scientists to discuss ways of encouraging more women into STEMM careers. \nShe said: “We feel that Soapbox Science is a fantastic way of doing just that. By bringing science and technology to the public where they wouldn’t normally expect it\, we hope we can inspire and explain just what they can offer. \n“Once again this year our speakers will passionately discuss their work with the audience\, in particular those who would not otherwise go to scientific events or open days. DESCRIPTION:This interactive and informative event on ‘Preparing your NHS Business Case’ will enable you to prepare better business cases with input from the EMAHSN staff. \nThis free to attend event is being held as part of the SoLSTICE programme – a project part-funded by the European Regional Development Fund\, click here to be re-directed to further information about the project. \nDuring the event you will also learn about: \n– What is a business case\, what is its purpose and why it is so important? \n– Who reviews the business case and how are they evaluated from a commissioning point of view? \n– How to construct a good business case \nThe Challenge as a supplier to the NHS is often that when you have a product which from your perspective improves patient outcomes and saves cost you still cannot get it adopted by the NHS. This is often because there is not a fully developed business case\, without this a group within the NHS interested in taking on board a new product or service are unlikely to get approval of the case for change before procurement of the innovation can proceed. \nOrganisations that supply to the NHS are often challenged by the process\, timescales\, evidence and documentary requirements. This can often seem like an unnecessary complication\, or simply a reason to not issue a purchase order. A good business case is fundamental to successful adoption and developing a long term business partnership.
