SUMMARY:MediWales & DTR Medical: Continuing ENT Diagnosis Throughout COVID-19 Safely
DESCRIPTION:DTR Medical\, in partnership with MediWales\, bring you a webinar focused around the importance of the continuation of Nasendoscopy procedures during the pandemic\, and how the SNAP\, Endoscope Guide\, will enable these to continue throughout the Coronavirus pandemic. The SNAP device won the 2020 MediWales Innovation Award for industry partnership with the NHS. \nCOVID-19 has heavily affected all our lives and how our health service is able to treat patients. In 2018\, about 500\,000 Nasendoscopies were performed in the UK\, however\, figures during the first peak of COVID-19 suggested that only 8% of these were able to take place. \nThere is a large risk to both ENT Surgeons and Speech & Language Therapists whilst carrying out a Nasendoscopy procedure and the Clinician is at significantly higher levels of contracting COVID-19. The SNAP\, Endoscope Guide aims to provide better safety and care for both the Patient and Clinician. \nThe device ensures safe passage of a Nasendoscopy through a Surgical Mask\, creating an aperture for the Endoscope to pass through into the Nasal Cavity. This meaning that any coughs\, splutters\, or sneezes throughout the procedure are caught in the Mask\, which is easily disposed of after use. \nDTR Medical and endoscope-i have collaborated in the development of the essential product and helping to bring it to market. This innovative device will enable ENT Clinicians and Speech & Language Therapists to return to Nasendoscopies. This procedure is critical in the diagnosis of Head and Neck Cancer\, by reducing COVID-19 risks for the healthcare professional. \nSign-ups before Wednesday 10th February 2021 will receive a free SNAP sample for the webinar[1]. \nAgenda: \nChair – Gwyn Tudor\, CEO\, MediWales \n13:00 – 13:10 Introduction to Webinar \n13:10 – 13:20 Innovia Medical – Who are we & what do we do? \n13:20 – 13:30 Overview of Nasendoscopy procedure \n13:30 – 14:00 What is the SNAP\, Endoscope Guide? (intention of the design\, the development process) \n14:00 – 14:30 Why should I use the SNAP & why is it needed? (Perceived benefits from a Clinicians perspective) \n14:30 – 15:00 Live Demonstration (how to use the SNAP) \n15:00 – 15:30 Q&A Session \n  \nThis webinar is free to all\, please register using the form below. \n  \nPlease note\, your information will be shared with MediWales & DTR Medical \nFill out my online form.\n \n[1] Samples are intended for demonstration purposes only and are not suitable for in procedure use\, offer is valid on Webinar sign-ups before the 10th of February 2021 and is subject to available stock. DTR Medical reserves the rights to change these terms and conditions at any time without prior notice.

SUMMARY:Preparing your NHS Business Case
DESCRIPTION:This interactive and informative event on ‘Preparing your NHS Business Case’ will enable you to prepare better business cases with input from the EMAHSN staff. \nThis free to attend event is being held as part of the ACTIS programme – a project part-funded by the European Regional Development Fund\, click here to be re-directed to further information about the project. \nDuring the event you will also learn about: \n– What is a business case\, what is its purpose and why it is so important? \n– Who reviews the business case and how are they evaluated from a commissioning point of view? \n– How to construct a good business case \nThe Challenge as a supplier to the NHS is often that when you have a product which from your perspective improves patient outcomes and saves cost you still cannot get it adopted by the NHS. This is often because there is not a fully developed business case\, without this a group within the NHS interested in taking on board a new product or service are unlikely to get approval of the case for change before procurement of the innovation can proceed. \nOrganisations that supply to the NHS are often challenged by the process\, timescales\, evidence and documentary requirements. This can often seem like an unnecessary complication\, or simply a reason to not issue a purchase order. A good business case is fundamental to successful adoption and developing a long term business partnership. Preparing the business case can also be difficult for your NHS contacts because they are busy or not experienced in their preparation and often even more difficult for companies with little or no experience of the process. \nProgramme \nSpeaker Profiles \nPlaces are restricted to one delegate per organisation only.  \n  \nBook Now \n  \nNon-Attendance: should you book on Medilink East Midlands events and fail to attend on two occasions without letting us know\, we reserve the right to refuse to accept bookings from your organisation in the future.

SUMMARY:NEWS in your community: monitoring and supporting patients across all healthcare settings
DESCRIPTION:MediWales is collaborating with the West of England Academic Health Science Network (AHSN) to deliver this conference which will focus on monitoring and supporting patients outside the hospital setting (at home\, in nursing and care homes) to specifically enable the measurement of vital signs to calculate a Nation Early Warning Score (NEWS) which is used when delivering care. \nFree delegate places are available to NHS professionals\, research and industry communities\, from both sides of the bridge. We would also like to extend an invitation to companies who have or are developing various approaches to track vital signs. Though this is not about intensive care monitoring – during the event it will be considered how these tools could be used in a community setting. This would include the recording of observations\, dashboards\, wearable devices\, remote monitoring\, devices that aid recording of observation or identifying deterioration with a particular interest in wearable and non-contact tech for those with Learning Disabilities. \nThis event will discuss the challenges and technical issues faced in the community care setting and look at the development of potential clinical / industry collaborations to address the issues in this area. There will also be information on the support and funding available to take projects forward. \nHear from speakers from the AHSN who will present their work on the National Early Warning Score (NEWS) and from Welsh clinical colleagues who will showcase their plan going forward.
