SUMMARY:Daring to Dream Annual Wellbeing Festival Lleswyl 2022
DESCRIPTION:Lleswyl is Daring to Dream’s annual Wellbeing Festival\, which is free to everyone\, and is live-streamed with live hosts on the night including Sian Lloyd\, Jase Harrold and Tumi Williams. \nIt will be a dynamic and engaging evening with a diverse range of great music (appealing across the generations) which is pre-recorded as live\, with Ratio Studios providing all our end-to-end digital production; the live music is interspersed with cameo videos of inspiring patient stories\, many of whom are linked to one of the charities that provide their particular patient community with support\, so that we can raise awareness of their services too. We will then connect that positive patient story with relevant music or poetry etc. Our live hosts (who will be BSL interpreted too) will bring everything to life\, introducing bands\, engaging with live guests and also festival participants & attendees via social media. We had great feedback last year! \nWe are determinedly shining a light on all those in Wales (approx. 1.2 million people) living with at least one longstanding (chronic) illness and raising awareness of the need to support their emotional health and wellbeing. We also wish to encourage others to invite someone they know living with chronic illness for a Lleswyl get-together and share a fun evening together of food\, music etc. Importantly Lleswyl is about helping those living with physical illness to be included in a social gathering. \nLleswyl can be enjoyed from a hospital bed\, from home\, a friend’s home\, a supported living community or a care home. It is free\, diverse and inclusive\, and provides equity of opportunity\, bringing music and joy to those for whom there really is no ‘new normal’. \nThis year\, Lleswyl 2022 will highlight (in particular) the following chronic conditions\na) neurological conditions (such as Dementia\, Parkinsons)\nb) cardiovascular conditions (e.g. Stroke Association\, Youth@Heart\, BHF Cymru)\nc) renal conditions (Paul Popham Foundation and Kidney Wales)\nd) cancer (Velindre\, Tenovus Cancer Care and others)\ne) ‘Invisible illness’ (ME\, CFS\, FMS\, long covid\, Lupus\, arthritis\, MS … and accompanying charities)\nf) donor support and reaching out to the deaf community.

SUMMARY:2023 BioInfect Conference
DESCRIPTION:With the WHO declaring AMR one of the top 10 global public health threats facing humanity and with 3.57 million deaths associated with resistant pathogens in 2019\, it is imperative that we tackle this serious threat now.\nWe can’t do it alone: a collaborative approach is needed across all sectors. BioInfect will look at the critical issues relating to the challenges of new anti-infective development\,  the endemic problem of resistance\, and the considerations for creating a truly global and effective response to antimicrobial resistance. \nAntimicrobial resistance today\nAntimicrobial resistance arises when the organisms that cause infection evolve ways to survive treatment. Once standard treatments are ineffective\, it is easier for infections to persist and spread. These resistant organisms can be found in people\, animals\, food and the environment. The rise and spread of antimicrobial resistance are creating a new generation of ‘superbugs’ that cannot be treated with existing medicines. \nDrug-resistant bacteria infect over 50m people worldwide killing over 700\,000 people each year. Without effective antibiotics\, even minor surgery and routine operations could become high-risk procedures if serious infections can’t be treated. \n2022 Attendees \nIn 2022 we welcomed delegates from Alderley Park\, Bruntwood SciTech\, INFEX Therapeutics Ltd\, Evotec\, SRG\, ProLab Diagnostics\, Biocair\, Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine\, Blueberry Therapeutics Ltd\, Lancaster University\, Bugworks\, Keele University\, Cresset\, Medicines Discovery Catapult\, Quay Pharma\, Biocair\, F2G Ltd\, National Physical Laboratory\, University of Manchester\, University of Leeds\,  Aviva Investors\, National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence\, BMG LABTECH Ltd\, Perfectus Biomed\, University of Sheffield\, ProLab Diagnostics\, ArrePath\, Centauri Therapeutics\, University of Liverpool\, SEDA Pharmaceutical Development Services\, MAST Group\, Katalyzt Ltd.\, Illumina\, Collaborative Drug Discovery CDD Vault\, LightOx\, PhenUtest Diagnostics\, DSTL\, WHP Engineering Ltd.\, 30 Technology\, Phoenix Dx Ltd.\, Bouygues E&S\, Source Bioscience\, Safeguard Biosystems Holding\, Appleyard Lees\, Opillotech Ltd. and many more to follow……. \nThere are exciting sponsorship and exhibitor opportunities available\, more information can be found here.  \nREGISTER HERE
