DESCRIPTION:Funding competition: innovation in health and life sciences \nBusinesses can apply for a share of £15 million for projects that support SMEs to develop innovations in health and life sciences. \nSummary \nInnovate UK is investing up to £15 million in projects addressing technical or commercial challenges in health and life sciences (H&LS). The aim is to increase competitiveness for UK small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). The H&LS sector focuses on agriculture\, food and healthcare. It is supported by bioscience technology\, medical research and engineering and physical sciences expertise. \nGrants can be awarded to a consortium\, led by a business or a Research and Technology Organisation (non-academic)\, working with other organisations or research groups. All consortia must involve at least one SME. We welcome projects led by an SME. An SME can apply on its own for funding up to £100\,000. \nThere are two options to apply into this competition. These are dependent on the size and length of your project. These options are called streams. Stream 1 is for projects under 12 months and under £100\,000. Stream 2 is for projects over 12 months or over £100\,000. \nThe competition opens on 9 February 2017. \nYou must register before noon on 5th April 2017. \nThe registration link will be available once the competition opens. \nYou must apply before noon on 12th April 2017. \nThis meeting will have a Health focus and will provide the opportunity to network with like-minded delegates and to meet with sector specialists from Innovate UK and KTN. \nFor more information and to register click here.
