SUMMARY:MATCH Roadshow: Medical Devices - what are they worth?
DESCRIPTION:Matthew will be discussing and demonstrating how MATCH tools and guides can provide companies with access to health economics thinking. The MATCH tools and guides can be used to improve decision making during the early stages of product development\, but also provide a way of highlighting the benefits that a new technology can deliver to purchasing and procurement bodies. \nMATCH has developed an easy to use Health Economics Evaluator tool that can be deployed at the early stages of the product development lifecycle with minimal input data. This tool is used to demonstrate the value proposition of the innovation in terms of the impact on cost. By speaking the language of HTA\, manufacturers are better placed to sell innovative products to the NHS. Likewise\, NHS decision-makers are supported in beginning the adoption process for new products\, such that improvement in patient outcomes has been articulated as clearly as possible given the available data\, and the uncertainties are well understood. To find out more about the workshop sessions click here. \nThe cost for non-MediWales delegates is £375.00 (+vat) \nMediWales members and other Medilink UK members can attend at the heavily discounted rate of £155.00 (+vat) \nTo register click here

SUMMARY:Aneurin Bevan Research and Development Annual Conference
DESCRIPTION:‘Improving Patient Outcomes through Research’ \n  \nThis is the second Aneurin Bevan Local Health Board Research & Development Conference and following on from last year’s successful conference it has become an important date in the Health Board’s calendar. \nResearch & Development is of fundamental importance to healthcare providers who aim to deliver high quality healthcare and improve the health of the population. The progress for clinical research in Gwent over the last 10 years has been steady\, and outputs of research have been published and presented at local\, national and international conferences. This is encouraging as an active research culture is important to help with recruitment and retention of good staff. \nThe overall aim of the Health Board is to strive for research excellence and this will be achieved by establishing coherent and sustainable research teams that are able to positively influence healthcare delivery in Gwent. This approach will underpin the delivery of excellent high quality services to people in Gwent\, producing professionals who are able to meet the needs of the whole healthcare system.  \n  \nFinal Programme\n\n \n  \n\n\n\n\nFor full speaker biographies\, click here \n\n\nTo book a space contact Laura Upton on Tel: 01633 234768\, or email: laura.upton@wales.nhs.uk.
