SUMMARY:Advancing the future of diagnostics
DESCRIPTION:Each step in a diagnostic test’s journey—from raw material extraction to patient administration—can influence outcomes.  Advances in molecular biology\, immunodiagnostics and rapid point-of-care (POC) testing are transforming diagnostics. New products and support services are providing the critical tools and components which enable clinicians to detect specific biomarkers and target treatments\, ultimately resulting in better patient outcomes. \nRecent events have increased the global focus and commitment on bringing diagnostic tests to market as quickly as possible as well as the challenges the industry has faced in developing and bringing these diagnostic tests to market in exceptional circumstances.  A wealth of technology\, diverse expertise in areas such as material science\, biochemistry\, virology as well as a robust supply of critical components are fundamental to the successful development of every test.  Optimizing assays and kits for high sensitivity and accuracy is a common goal for all those involved in the development process.  The need for close collaboration between diagnostic developers and component and material providers has never been stronger. \nWe invite you to our thought-provoking and interactive virtual summit showcasing recently launched technologies\, products and solutions supporting the development of diagnostics. Incorporating a program of webinars hosted by leading scientists at the University College London (UCL) and Harvard Medical School\, a panel discussion from industry experts from DCN and Sona Nanotech as well as sessions from Cytiva’s own product and application specialists.  You will also be able to live chat with our product experts. \nFind out more and register here

SUMMARY:Working with the Welsh NHS: Market access and procurement event
DESCRIPTION:  \nThe National Health Service was very much at the frontline of impact of Covid 19 and this coincided with a huge demand for PPE\, medical equipment\, diagnostics and digital technologies. With new ways of working and rapid innovation adoption across the sector\, our speakers will be examining how we can learn from the pandemic and what this crisis means for the future of NHS procurement and collaboration with industry. One of the lasting legacies of the pandemic crisis is a better understanding that the NHS is a devolved service and each country does not follow the same plans and policies. While the UK nations collaborated in many areas the Welsh devolved Government and NHS has its own infrastructure\, adoption and procurement services.Speakers from across the procurement landscape\, Welsh NHS innovation leads\, procurement services\, value based healthcare and government will be discussing purchasing\, innovation adoption and supply chain resilience for health technologies. \nConfirmed speakers include: \n\nGwyn Tudor\nCEO\, MediWales\nJonathan Irvine\nDirector of Procurement Services – NHS Shared Services Partnership\n\n\nPete Phillips\nDirector\, Surgical Materials Testing Laboratory\nChris Hopkins\nHead of Clinical Engineering – Hywel Dda University Health Board\nRobyn Davies\nHead of Innovation – Cardiff & Vale University Health Board\nTom James\nAssistant Director of Innovation – Aneurin Bevan University Health Board\nLynne Grundy\nAssociate Director Research and Innovation – Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board\n\n\nHelen Northmore\nHead of Innovation Adoption (Digital &AI) – Life Sciences Hub Wales\nMatthew Prettyjohns\nScientific Advice Service Lead – Health Technology Wales\n\n  \nThis event will take place on Zoom. \nThis event is free to members and £95 + VAT for non-members. \n  \nEmail Isabelle to register or for more information.

SUMMARY:MediWales & DTR Medical: Continuing ENT Diagnosis Throughout COVID-19 Safely
DESCRIPTION:DTR Medical\, in partnership with MediWales\, bring you a webinar focused around the importance of the continuation of Nasendoscopy procedures during the pandemic\, and how the SNAP\, Endoscope Guide\, will enable these to continue throughout the Coronavirus pandemic. The SNAP device won the 2020 MediWales Innovation Award for industry partnership with the NHS. \nCOVID-19 has heavily affected all our lives and how our health service is able to treat patients. In 2018\, about 500\,000 Nasendoscopies were performed in the UK\, however\, figures during the first peak of COVID-19 suggested that only 8% of these were able to take place. \nThere is a large risk to both ENT Surgeons and Speech & Language Therapists whilst carrying out a Nasendoscopy procedure and the Clinician is at significantly higher levels of contracting COVID-19. The SNAP\, Endoscope Guide aims to provide better safety and care for both the Patient and Clinician. \nThe device ensures safe passage of a Nasendoscopy through a Surgical Mask\, creating an aperture for the Endoscope to pass through into the Nasal Cavity. This meaning that any coughs\, splutters\, or sneezes throughout the procedure are caught in the Mask\, which is easily disposed of after use. \nDTR Medical and endoscope-i have collaborated in the development of the essential product and helping to bring it to market. This innovative device will enable ENT Clinicians and Speech & Language Therapists to return to Nasendoscopies. This procedure is critical in the diagnosis of Head and Neck Cancer\, by reducing COVID-19 risks for the healthcare professional. \nSign-ups before Wednesday 10th February 2021 will receive a free SNAP sample for the webinar[1]. \nAgenda: \nChair – Gwyn Tudor\, CEO\, MediWales \n13:00 – 13:10 Introduction to Webinar \n13:10 – 13:20 Innovia Medical – Who are we & what do we do? \n13:20 – 13:30 Overview of Nasendoscopy procedure \n13:30 – 14:00 What is the SNAP\, Endoscope Guide? (intention of the design\, the development process) \n14:00 – 14:30 Why should I use the SNAP & why is it needed? (Perceived benefits from a Clinicians perspective) \n14:30 – 15:00 Live Demonstration (how to use the SNAP) \n15:00 – 15:30 Q&A Session \n  \nThis webinar is free to all\, please register using the form below. \n  \nPlease note\, your information will be shared with MediWales & DTR Medical \nFill out my online form.\n \n[1] Samples are intended for demonstration purposes only and are not suitable for in procedure use\, offer is valid on Webinar sign-ups before the 10th of February 2021 and is subject to available stock. DTR Medical reserves the rights to change these terms and conditions at any time without prior notice.

SUMMARY:The Biopesticide Summit 2020
DESCRIPTION:The Biopesticide Summit & Awards 2020 will bring together scientists\, researchers\, key industry stakeholders\, government organizations\, investors\, policy makers and integrated pest management practitioners to discuss the challenges faced and the future opportunities. The summit will also provide insights from end-use markets giving updates on product performance in different sectors. \nThere is an urgent need to develop novel products and application technologies to not only “fill the gaps” in the market due to chemical pesticide removal\, but also to combat resistance to currently used pesticides. In addition\, there is increasing consumer led retailer demand for growers to reduce the use of chemical pesticides in crop production and to grow fruit and vegetables with reduced detectable residues. Despite significant growth in the biocontrol industry\, major limitations with current biopesticide products are still apparent. Register to attend the Biopesticide Summit & Awards 2020 to be part of the solution! The Summit is the annual meeting of the World BioProtection Forum. \nFind out more here
