SUMMARY:Patient Powered Safety '23 - Designing better care with (not for) patient
DESCRIPTION:Patient safety is key to what we teach and learn – at ‘Patient Powered Safety’ we are trying to look at patient safety from the point of view of the patient. Previous years’ meetings have resulted in a dedicated report by the Bevan Commission and a special edition on patient safety from the Royal College of Physicians Future Healthcare Journal. \nTogether we will hear from researchers and patients about their experience of complex modern healthcare. We will explore how to spot that things are going wrong\, witness amazing new technology and map-out the ethical and legal implications of increased control of healthcare by patients. \nInterested? \nWhy not have a look at the linked report from the 2019 event\, cohosted by the Bevan Commission or read some of the outputs from the 2021 event that have been published in a special edition on patient safety with the Future Healthcare Journal ? \nKey topics for the 2023 event will be \n1. Patient safety from the patient’s (and family’s) perspective \n2. Co-production with patients – From tokenism to impact \n3. Patients making care in hospitals safer – international examples \nClick here to find out more.
