Swansea University – Intensive Learning Academies

Type of organisation: Academic

Swansea University School of Management is the home to the Value-Based Health and Care Academy and All-Wales Intensive Learning Academy for Innovation in Health and Social Care. Both Academies are part of the Welsh Government Intensive Learning Academy (ILA) Programme.

The Academies support the professional capability and system leadership which is fit for the challenges for health and social care systems today and tomorrow.

There is a growing need for health and social care systems to both acquire Value-Based capabilities and for leaders to drive innovation within health and social care systems, processes and technologies. Both our Academies have been designed to support senior and aspiring leaders in adopting these approaches in their organisations.

A ‘case based’ approach to learning and teaching, and creative thinking, grounded in practical learning is encouraged. The education programmes are informed by the latest research and evidence with experience shared across countries and sectors.
