Prestigious Award Win for Staff at HMT Sancta Maria Hospital

Staff at Swansea’s HMT Sancta Maria Hospital have been awarded a prestigious award by Swansea Bay University Health Board and Swansea University, for their exceptional treatment of student nurses.

The ‘2022 Practice Supervisor, Practice Assessor and Team Awards’ were introduced by the health board and university, to recognise the outstanding organisations and individuals that help build a stronger health and social care workforce in Swansea.

Crowned the ‘Private Sector of the Year’, HMT Sancta Maria Hospital was chosen by a panel of past nursing students.

Commenting on the award win is Jessica Sullivan, Head of Patient Care at HMT Sancta Maria Hospital, said:

“I am so proud of the whole clinical team at the Hospital. This award is very well deserved and comes following the team’s most challenging year to date as they have had to work under increased pressure to re-build, post-pandemic.

“The feedback from the panel was excellent and we were truly delighted to hear the glowing words from past students who have benefitted so much from our team’s commitment and passion for the profession.”

Hospital Director, Tim Atter, said:

“This award is testament to the hours of hard work our clinical teams put into training the next generation of talented practitioners. It recognises just how fantastic our nurses, operating department practitioners, and healthcare support workers are. We couldn’t be prouder and we look forward to continuing to support even more students as we head into the new year.”

HMT Sancta Maria Hospital is a not-for-profit organisation, with any surpluses used to support dementia charities, educational grants, and medical research around ageing.  The Hospital is passionate about futureproofing its workforce, by committing to supporting student nurses and clinical practitioners, each academic year.
