Job Opportunity – Lab Technician, Indoor Biotechnologies

Job Vacancy: Laboratory Technician Location: Cardiff, UK

Salary: circa £20,000-£22,000, per annum, depending on experience. Term of employment: Full time.

Key Tasks

  • Allergen analysis from environmental samples, including air and dust, using ELISA and Indoor Biotechnologies’ state-of- the-art multiplex MARIA® techniques.
  • Receipt and logging of samples and allergen extraction.
  • Preparation of buffers, solutions, and reagents for use in experimental procedures and ELISA kits for commercial sale.
  • Adhere to the internal Quality Assurance System (QAS) and ISO 17025 standard.
  • Supporting development and management of the QAS.
  • Keeping lab equipment and facilities clean and in good working condition.
  • Follow standard operating procedures with consistency.
  • Keeping detailed laboratory notebooks and records.
  • Reporting the progress of all analyses, results, procedures, and experiments to senior team members.
  • Support lab staff on contract research projects, as necessary.

 

Essential Skills, Knowledge, Experience & Requirements

  • A B.Sc. in biology, biotechnology, or related biomedical subject.
  • At least 1 years’ experience of working within a laboratory or have undertaken a Professional Training Year.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • High standard of communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently when required, but equally able to work effectively within a team.
  • Knowledge of software for word-processing, spreadsheets, databases

All relevant job specific training will be provided.
