Four MediWales members named within Wales’ Top 50 Fastest Growing Businesses 2011

Congratulations to four of our MediWales members who have been named within the top 50 fastest growing businesses in Wales 2011. 

Trojan Electronics Ltd (15) based in Swansea is a manufacturing, refurbishment services and multi-platform solution provider. Founded in 2002, they have seen 151.6% growth between 2008-10.

Trojan has three distinct areas to its business. It provides returns management, refurbishment, repair and recycling of customers’ returned IT and AV products to manufacturers and retailers including the three top electrical retailers in the UK. Secondly, it is a full service provider for e-tail, including multi-platforms solutions and managing web stores for companies. Finally, the firm’s electronics division carries out sub-contract work through whole assembly, to complete product build and test and full turnkey solutions.

Biotec Services International Ltd (16) based in Bridgend provides international clinical trial services supporting the pharmaceutical industry specialising in the import, qualified person certification, labelling, assembly, storage and worldwide distribution of clinical trials supplies.
Established in 1997, Biotec has seen growth of 130.3% between 2007-2009.

BIC Innovation (23) based in Bangor is an innovative management consultancy established in 2004, with a growth rate of 91.9% between 2008-10.
BIC aids organisations seeking to develop and commercialise new product or services, exploit IP or technology or create and implement new business models and processes. It delivers innovation projects to clients via public sector programmes, direct private sector consultancy projects and innovation management training programmes to academia and international business leaders. It delivers the Business Innovation-Design programme on behalf of the Welsh Government.

The Magstim Company Ltd (43) was established in 2004 and is based in Whitland, West Wales. A designer, developer and marketer of medical devices used in neuroscience research labs and the operating theatre, the company has seen 56.2% growth between 2007-09.
Magstim is renowned in its field as the manufacturer of the most widely-used TMS (transcranial magnetic stimulation) stimulator in the world. These stimulators are used by neuroscience researchers to investigate the connectivity of the brain, with results that have implications for the diagnosis and treatment of multiple sclerosis, central motor disorders, motor neurone disease and spinal injury. Magstim also markets the Neurosign range of intra-operative monitors and accessories, which are routinely used by ENT (ear, nose and throat) surgeons to protect vital facial nerves during complex surgery.
