ABHI would like to invite you to attend a half-day Export Seminar focusing on the Russian Market which will take place on the 14th June 2012, in London.
This event aims to assess the opportunities within this market and to explore and address some of the issues which Companies face when they look to access and grow business in Russia.

Sessions will include an introduction to the healthcare sector and opportunities for UK businesses, the regulatory environment and what businesses need to know about it, The Bribery Act and the implications when doing business in Russia plus Company Case Studies providing personal experiences of working in the Russian Market – including one from Smiths Medical International. The event will also provide ample time for asking questions and networking with delegates and speakers during lunch.

Russian Market Overview
The Russian Government has recently announced plans to spend around USD 7 billion on upgrading healthcare systems in the Russian regions. These funds are mainly to be spent on purchasing innovative medical equipment, ambulances and emergency equipment for hospitals and primary care units. In Moscow itself, the Mayor of the City recently announced the Administration’s plans to spend USD 1.8 billion on purchasing medical equipment, carrying out repairs and upgrades to hospitals and financing e-health projects. The Federal government will also spend a further USD 1.3 billion to fully upgrade six major medical research institutions by 2014. Since 2006 the Russian Government has also been implementing the National Priority Project – ‘Zdorovye’ (Health) mainly targeted at enhancing primary care capacity, purchasing new equipment and providing people with better quality healthcare.

This event is run as part of a bi-monthly series of Export Seminars which proved an ideal opportunity for industry to learn more about markets around the world. Each seminar focuses on a different foreign market or export issue and provides information advice and a chance to network with other UK Medical Technology companies doing business overseas.
