The workshop will focus on electromagnetic energy in the area of healthcare innovations and point-of-care technologies and their clinical translation to address challenges in global healthcare.
The Biomedical Applications of Electromagnetic Energy workshop features the technological developments made by the Horizon 2020 funded framework programme, SUMCASTEC – Semiconductor-Based Ultrawideband Micromanipulation of Cancer Stem Cells. SUMCASTEC explores a radically new approach for cancer stem cells (CSCs) real-time and neutralisation. A novel micro-optofluidic lab-on-chip (LOC) platform will be developed through a joint and iterative effect by biologists, clinicians and engineers.
