BioWales 2012

Special MediWales and Medilink UK member delegate package now available. Please contact ruth.campbell@mediwales.com for more information.

BioWales 2012 marks the 10th anniversary of the international life sciences event, and to celebrate, the event on March 13 and 14 will be the biggest yet – in its new home, the iconic Wales Millennium Centre overlooking the waterfront of Cardiff Bay, and with a much broader global focus.

The two day show reflects the significance of the life sciences sector in Wales and comprises a conference that will attract major international profile speakers to inspire and inform, an exhibition of industry and academia to showcase the innovative research and development taking place in Wales, and a brokerage event that and brings together industry professionals to make valuable business connections in a speed dating style.

The 2012 conference programme has been put together by the body which advises Welsh Government on its life science strategy, the Life Science Sector Panel, headed by biotech entrepreneur Professor Sir Chris Evans who will be a keynote speaker at the event. Conference themes have a sharper commercial edge, and will include:

  • Innovation
  • Translation
  • Commercialisation

Amongst the presentations, Sir Chris Evans will unveil exciting plans for the future of life sciences in Wales, and the Futurewatch session highlights new technologies and commercial ventures to look out for. Sir Chris said: "We have really upped the ante for BioWales 2012 with a 10th event in this magnificent Welsh landmark building that will capture the dynamism and vitality in the life sciences in today’s Wales. It’s an exciting prospect and not to be missed!"
