Afternoon Event:
Currently in NHS Wales hospitals there is no efficient way to identify the location of patients, equipment, staff and key resources. It means that we are not making best use of valuable staff time.
To quote Clinical Engineering “We need to aim for the right equipment in the right place at the right time” thus improving the patients journey.
As Karen Winder, Head Of Clinical Systems, explains below, a system of tracking patients staff and resources could mean that a patient’s stay in the hospital would be less stressful and staff and valuable resources such as operating and screening slots can be optimised.
NHS Wales is looking at identifying suppliers who might have technology and other solutions that could be part of the answer to this challenge.
On the day a number of slots will be available on a first come first served basis for companies to present their solutions or ideas to other participants and to meet with NHS Wales.
