IET: The Healthcare Technologies Student and Early Career Awards 2015

The 2015 Healthcare Technologies Student and Early Career Awards, hosted by the IET and IMechE are now open. Finalists will be invited to be present at the awards on the 25 February 2015 in London.

IET Dennis Hill Award (£300)

The Denis Hill prize is awarded annually to the student on an MEng or MSc programme who has, during the past year, submitted the best final year project dissertation in the general field of Biomedical Engineering and cognate subjects (including Electronic and Electrical Engineering, Physics, Healthcare Technologies and Health Informatics).

IET J.A. Lodge Award (£500)

The J. A. Lodge Award is open to all Electronic or Electrical Engineers working at the early stage of their careers in the field of research and development within Biomedical Engineering. For applicants in universities, this corresponds to being in the final year of a PhD programme, or having recently completed their PhD (PhD degree not conferred before January 2010). For applicants in industry, this corresponds to being within ten years of graduating from their last degree (PhD degree not conferred before January 2005).

IET William James Award (£400)

The award is presented to encourage, support and recognise outstanding work of PhD students demonstrating a high level of commitment and advanced understanding of Biomedical Engineering.

IMechE Vicon: Best Medical Engineering Undergraduate Project (£250)

The competition is open to recent graduates (2014), third/fourth year undergraduates and taught Masters degree course students, who have completed or are working on a Biomedical Engineering project.

IMechE JRI: Best Medical Engineering PhD Prize (£250)

The competition is open to those who passed their PhD viva in the field of Biomedical Engineering between 2013 and 2014.

IET and IMechE Poster session 

Entrants who are unsuccessful in their podium prize application will automatically be entered into the relevant poster catergory competition. The poster competition is only open to podium prize applicants.

Notification deadline: Friday 30 January 2015

Please note no expenses are available to travel to London to present your work.
