Leading clinicians, academics, businesses and politicians will gather to discuss the future of healthcare at the inaugural Life Science Summit on 18 and 19 March at the Edgbaston Cricket Ground, Birmingham.

Organised by life science industry specialists Medilink, the summit is free of charge and will feature a keynote speech from the Office of Life Science, as well as stimulating talks from pioneer Charles Craddock from the Leukaemia Centre and James Wilkie from Birmingham University.

With 250 delegates, expected to attend each day, the comprehensive programme embraces innovation adoption, research, marketing, incubation and new technology. Providing the opportunity to learn, understand and discuss where the future of healthcare business lies, public and private sector business leaders will discover how their business could benefit through innovation, improved effectiveness and building competitive advantage.

The Summit will also host the official launch of the Edgbaston Medical Quarter, in recognition of the world-class medical and healthcare provision in the district. Building on the area’s international reputation for pioneering medical research and treatment, there will also be an opportunity to hear about plans for Birmingham Health Partners Institute for translational medicine (ITM) and the new regional academic health science network (AHSN)
