Methods for Assessing & Gathering Evidence for Medical Devices

11.07.2013 @ 9:30 am - 4:00 pm

This one day masterclass will provide delegates with the tools and techniques for assessing the value and effectiveness of a medical device before it goes to market and in order to meet CE marking and regulatory approval.

In a market that is characterised by fast moving innovation, but restricted healthcare budgets, the ability to demonstrate the competence, quality, and economic benefit of a device are important factors for success.

By attending this interactive event delegates will gain a full understanding of the various methods for gathering the clinical and economic evidence required to support the uptake of useful, safe and innovative products. Presentations will cover:

  • How to analyse the potential sales volume and economic impact of a new device
  • Usability testing
  • Gathering and using patient data
  • Testing of medical devices in a healthcare setting
  • Using simulation to assess medical devices
  • Selecting and running a clinical evaluation
  • NIHR Clinical Research Network support for industry
  • Selling your evidence to the procurer

This is a ‘must attend’ masterclass for all those developing, marketing and selling medical devices. If you are in a senior management position, or quality, regulatory, technical, R&D, business development, sales or marketing role then you will benefit from attending.
