NHS England is continuing to develop the National Secure Data Environment (SDE) to enable approved users to access and analyse NHS data without it leaving a controlled environment. This approach strengthens patient confidentiality while enabling faster, more effective use of data to support research, population health, and service improvement.
To support adoption NHS England is hosting a webinar on 1st July at 10am, with speakers from across the National SDE programme, including Liz Gaffney, Head of Service, alongside colleagues from the NHSE Data Access and Partnerships team.
Join us to:
- Hear about the vision and priorities for the National NHS England Secure Data Environment, including its role as the default route for accessing NHS data for research and analysis.
- Understand how we enable secure, governed access to de-identified data, with clear controls over access, use, and outputs within the SDE.
- Learn about current capabilities, available datasets, and access pathways – and how these are evolving to meet user needs.
- Gain visibility of the SDE roadmap, including improvements to access, increased functionality and pipeline for new Data sets to be accessible via our SDE.
- Share your experience of accessing and using NHS data, including perceived barriers and opportunities for improvement.
