The first workshop in our Autumn training schedule is delivered by highly experienced leading consultant, Julie Collins from Collins & Collins and specialises in presentation and exhibition skills.
Julie has prepared over 1000 companies to pitch for investment, funding and new business working on behalf of UKTI, Innovate UK and companies including Penn Pharma and Frazer Nash Consultancy and has achieved significant success stories. Julie’s competitive advantage is the significant experience she has in marketing and business development which she will share with delegates.
This workshop will:
- Introduce the 4 step approach to preparing effective presentations
- Share the key sections that need to be covered in a presentation
- Explain how to engage and enthuse the audience
- Focus on identifying key motivating messages
- Provide feedback on content and delivery style for each delegate
The biggest and most frequent mistakes most pitchers make?
- Focus on facts and features and bore the audience with dates and lists
- Believe that the presentation doesn’t really matter (in fact it makes all the difference) and that skills cannot be taught (in fact they can!)
- Ramble with no clear aim or direction
During the workshop, delegates will produce and deliver a 5 minute presentation, so bringing a laptop with PowerPoint is advisable.
