The Honor Society of Nursing, Sigma Theta Tau International (STTI) is a non-profit organization of more than 125,000 nurses who lead in using knowledge, scholarship service and learning to improve the health of the world’s people.
The first European Regional Conference will be hosted by the Upsilon-Xi chapter, and held in Cardiff, Wales 12th-14th July 2012. The conference aims to:
• Bring together nurse leaders from diverse clinical and academic settings from Europe and further afield to stimulate networking and collaboration among STTI members and others.
• Enable participants to understand the diversity of nursing across Europe and the role of STTI in developing nursing across Europe and the rest of the world.
• Promote and develop global excellence in nursing knowledge, research and nursing leadership
The conference has attracted nurse academics, managers, researchers and clinical nurses from diverse areas of practice in over fourteen countries across Europe and from across the globe including Israel, Australia, Ghana, Taiwan, USA and Canada.
Keynote speakers include Professor Jean White, Chief Nursing Officer, Wales, Dr Suzanne Prevost, President of Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing, Indianapolis, USA, Professor David Ingleby, Emeritus Professor Utrecht University, Netherlands, Professor Inga-Lill Rahmberg Hallberg, Professor in Health Care Science and President of the European Academy of Nursing Science (EANS), Lund University, Sweden and Jill Evans, Member of the European Parliament for Wales.
