This course equally caters for programmers, senior staff and managers. It is designed to take people through the process of understanding an HL7 installation and giving them a background knowledge in the technical aspects.

Course Objectives
This course is designed to provide the skills and knowledge for programming, project management and implementation processes.
Attendees will learn the basics of HL7 messaging as well as a look to the future of healthcare messaging.
The sessions include technical aspects of the HL7 processes and procedures.
On completion of this course, attendees will have gained an understanding of the technical aspects of HL7 implementations and ability to effectively scope, plan and implement an HL7 project.

About the speaker
Chris Lynton-Moll is Chief Executive Officer of CAL2CAL Australia, which is part of the CAL2CAL Group, with offices in California, India and United Kingdom. CAL2CAL is a global Information Technology products and Software Engineering company specialising in emerging technologies for various sectors including healthcare.
Chris has over 30 years experience in the health sector in both Australia and the United Kingdom. Chris’ areas of expertise are in Pathology, Information System Management, healthcare messaging and project management. Chris trained as a microbiologist in London before moving to Australia over twenty years ago. His previous positions include Director of the Collaborative Centre for eHealth and Australian Healthcare Messaging Laboratory, at the University of Ballarat, Victoria, Chief Scientist of the Department of Microbiology, Royal Hobart Hospital, Tasmania and Information Systems Manager at the Royal Hobart Hospital.
Chris has been running HL7 messaging education and training sessions for the last 5 years for HL7 Australia. Chris is an active member of several Standards Australia HL7 Messaging Working Groups. He is Co-Chair of the Diagnostic Messaging Working Group, and member of the Collaborative Care and Prescriptions Working Groups. Chris also holds the position of Honorary Secretary of HL7 Australia.
