Singapore’s Medical standards are among the highest in Asia and it was ranked 6th among the 191 healthcare systems surveyed by WHO in 2000. The UK was ranked 18th. Bloomberg has ranked Singapore’s healthcare system as the 2nd most efficient in the world after Hong Kong. 

Total national health care expenditure is around 4% of the GDP. Healthcare is provided by both the public and private sectors, which are both well funded and continually seeking to upgrade their services and facilities. Although healthcare is not free, it is uniquely designed to be accessible to all.
