The emphasis of the Welsh Wounds Innovation Initiative is the translation of both a good scientific and clinical research base into commercially viable products bettering the life of patients with wounds. This will be achieve by a coordinated, multifactorial approach involving key stakeholders from academia, clinical practice and commerce. The continued evolution of this orphan clinic specialty will have both significant social and economic benefits for Wales and the UK.
