Bevan Commission Health Technology Exemplars

The Bevan Health Technology Exemplars programme provides funding and support for NHS Wales staff to work in partnership with an industry partner to implement an innovative health technology in their clinical area, with the aim of improving NHS Wales ways of working, solving health problems and improving health outcomes.

The programme was co-designed by the Bevan Commission and Welsh Government. Its aims are to accelerate technology development and adoption and to support NHS engagement with industry.

• Projects must include a technology product which could be adopted by the NHS (i.e. a mature, non drug product which is ‘on market’ and/or authorised for use)
• Projects must include an industry partner with a supporting contribution
• Projects are selected through a face-to-face ‘dragons den’ selection panel as well as paper assessment
• Projects receive up to £7500, through the NHS host/employer organisation, which can be used to support the project

The Health Technology Exemplars are managed as a cohort in the same way as the general Bevan Exemplars programme and participate in the same network events and benefit from the same structured / award winning support programme. The Health Technology Exemplars programme is funded by Welsh Government, through the Efficiency Through Technology Programme.
