Drumlord: Stronger, Better, Faster, Cheaper
The last few months of 2015 saw MediWales member Drumlord develop its SLA Department through investment in software, productivity improvements and cost restructuring. This has enabled the company to offer its Somos Watershed XC11122 SLA at greatly reduced prices. Depending on the size and geometry of parts, the company has been able to generate savings of up to 50% over previous SLA quotes.
The improved prices and fast turn around, with no compromise in Drumlord’s quality and accuracy, has led to a 350% increase in SLA throughput in the first quarter of 2016.
The clear Somos Watershed XC11122 SLA resin has both ISO 10993 and USP Class VI approvals, making it ideal for applications in the medical sector. The new generation resin has greatly improved physical characteristics which ensure that, even after a year, parts are comparable to FDM and SLS parts with little overall change in tensile properties.
In addition to developing its SLA Department, Drumlord has further invested in new machines to increase its vacuum casting capacity. Combined with extensive testing of new REACH and RoHS materials, Drumlord can now better service increased demands for high quality production runs of vacuum castings.
