Expert Advice: Device Access UK Ltd – Accelerating market access for your MedTech and Diagnostics devices into the NHS

Established in 2010, Device Access is the UK’s leading MedTech Market Access and Reimbursement Consultancy, having helped over 100 clients, both start up and multi-national, navigate their way by introducing their medical technologies – devices and diagnostics for the benefits of patients and the NHS.

Excellent research and commercial opportunities exist in the NHS for both domestic and overseas MedTech and Diagnostic organisations, because of increasing demands on the system by an ever increasing ageing population and a strong interest in new innovative MedTech and Diagnostic technologies.

“The device and diagnostic industries play a key role in delivering new products that benefit the NHS, the economy and above all, patients”
Professor Dame Sally C. Davies Chief Medical Officer Department of Health

In 2010, there were some changes to the way that the NHS evaluates MedTech devices and Diagnostics, through a new range of evaluation programmes run by the World’s most respected Health Technology Assessment (HTA) Programme – The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE).

Two brand new programmes – Medical Technology Guidance Programme (MTG) and the Diagnostic Assessment Programme (DAP) were designed specifically to help speed up the ultimate adoption of new technologies into the NHS, by setting new levels of clinical evidence requirements. In addition to the established Interventional Procedures (IP) and Technology Appraisal (TA) programmes.

The UK MedTech Market was valued at $10.8Bn in 2014, and is expected to grow to $15.4Bn by 2018. UK Trade And Investment
