PDR Secures Three iF DESIGN AWARD 2026 Wins, Including Recognition for Child Emergency Alert Device

PDR has secured three iF DESIGN AWARD 2026 wins, with projects recognised across product design, service design and user experience (UX). The awards highlight the consultancy’s work in addressing complex challenges across industry, sustainability and healthcare, including the development of a childcentred emergency alert device designed to support families during medical emergencies.

The iF DESIGN AWARD 2026 attracted more than 10,000 submissions from 68 countries, reviewed by an independent international jury of design, technology and sustainability experts. PDR’s multiple wins reflect its ability to translate complex requirements into effective, realworld solutions, with a particular focus on human needs in highpressure contexts.

One of the awardwinning projects, Ellie, is a UX concept designed to support children under seven who may need to seek help during sudden medical emergencies. Developed to address both safety and emotional needs, the device focuses on clarity, reassurance and ease of use, helping young children remain calm and confident when it matters most. The project demonstrates how thoughtful design can play a critical role in healthcare support, particularly for vulnerable users and their families.

PDR also received awards for Nexus, an intelligent modular laser system developed with Nexus Lasers and Robotics to support advanced manufacturing, and Geopak, a smart circular packaging service created with Whitecroft Lighting to reduce waste and improve efficiency on construction sites.

“The projects recognised here span very different sectors, but share a common focus on addressingreal-world complexity,” said Stuart Clarke, Design Manager at PDR.

“They show how design can support effective outcomes when people, systems and technologies are considered together.”
