ABHI: Trade Mission to Erbil Kurdistan

14.03.2015 - 19.03.2015

Multi Sector Trade Mission to Erbil Kurdistan

Following the very successful meetings in London Pathfinder is now working in association with the Kurdistan Regional Government in organising a high level delegation to meet with senior businessmen and key Ministries in ERBIL.  The Mission will be framed , as far as possible, to meet the objectives of delegates who should be senior business people, and will be led by Michael Thomas who led the first British Trade Mission to Kurdistan following the fall of Sadam Hussein, Michael maintains excellent relationships with the KRG.

Security where required will be provided by the KRG. The Kurds have had considerable success with pushing back ISIL from their borders and there are now clear signs that now is the time to reconnect and develop relationships in this very important developing market.

Market Opportunities

Kurdistan is Sustained by significant Oil and Gas deposits and UK Export Finance is discussing the finance of significant deals in Kurdistan Northern Iraq.

There are real prospects for very good opportunities in all sectors from Financial Services, through to Healthcare and Associated Industries, Oil and Gas through to Energy and Infrastructure, Supply Chain Industries, and Education and Training and beyond.

Kurdistan and Iraq benefit from massive UK political support.

The business environment of the Kurdistan region is ranked 57 ahead of Indonesia, Jordan, Russia and India. Due mainly to the rapid development of its oil and gas sector Kurdistan has created considerable wealth and market opportunities and is ranked highly at 24th place with Malaysia, Taiwan and the UAE.  The Kurdistan Government policy towards FDI is very positive with cross border trading in the Kurdistan region relatively simple and low levels of corporate and personal tax.

Opportunities abound in all sectors and Erbil is rapidly becoming a trade hub for the region.  Delegates joining the trade mission are going to be invited to a gala reception and dinner in Erbil organised by the KBA, where between 150 and 200 senior business executives are expected to attend.  For those interested in aid funded business, particularly health, education, water supply, accommodation etc. arrangements can be made to visit Dohuk.
